Resolution relative to application for an Expanding Public Access to Technology Grant. (Library)

ANLS:

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for a Grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in the amount of $67,951 with a city share of $1,401 and a grantor share of $66,550. The purpose of the project is to provide computer hardware to equip community training centers at Atkinson, East, Finney, Mill Road and Villard Avenue neighborhood libraries.

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 12/01/99 to 06/30/00 would cost $67,951 of which $1,401(2%) would be provided by the city and $66,550(98%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is authorized.
