Analysis

This resolution expresses the Common Council’s position on various legislative bills.

 

Body

Whereas, The Judiciary and Legislation Committee of the Common Council has recommended the following positions on the bills listed below; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, the City of Milwaukee's legislative package is amended to indicate the City's support for the following legislation:

 

AB-182/SB-178    Changes to the low-income housing tax credit.

 

AB-454 A workforce home loan program.

 

AB-455 A condominium conversion reimbursement grant program.

 

; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee's legislative package is amended to indicate the City's opposition to the following legislative bills:

 

AB-449, Local regulation of accessory dwelling units.

 

AB-450, Applicability of the commercial building code to certain buildings.

 

; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee's legislative package is amended to indicate support of AB-451, Residential tax incremental districts, if multifamily and rental housing were added to the legislation; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee's legislative package is amended to indicate support for AB-453, Required approvals of rezoning requests related to residential development, contents of and consistency of local ordinances with local comprehensive plans, certain tax incremental district project costs related to residential development, and tax incremental district lifespan extension, if multifamily and rental housing were added to the legislation.
