This resolution authorizes the sale of a vacant, tax deed lot owned by the City of Milwaukee.
BODY:
Whereas, St. Marcus Evangelical Lutheran Church has offered to purchase the vacant, tax deed lot located at 2205 North 1st Street, Tax Roll Key No. 353-0183-7, from the City of Milwaukee containing 5,000 square feet for use as a recreational area for $1.00; and

Whereas, St. Marcus has a pending Offer to Purchase the storefront property located at 108 West Garfield Avenue which is contingent upon the purchase of the City lot; and

Whereas, St. Marcus will combine both parcels after purchase to create the recreational area; and

Whereas, The Brewers Hill Association has reviewed St. Marcus' plans for this area and are in agreement that a recreational play area would be an appropriate reuse of the City's vacant lot; and

Whereas, This sale is contingent upon review and approval of site plans by the Department of City Development's Planning Division; and

Whereas, This lot is being sold in an "as is" condition; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has approved the acceptance of said offer, the sale of said lot to be consummated in the manner provided for in the sale of other tax deed property pursuant to Section 304-49 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said lot is declared surplus and that said offer incorporating the above terms and conditions is accepted and that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as may be required to consummate the sale of said lot and that the proceeds be cr...
