Analysis

This resolution authorizes a $500,000 appropriation from the Common Council Contingent Fund to the Damages & Claims Fund to cover an anticipated shortage in the Damages & Claims Fund.

Body

Whereas, The Damages & Claims Fund is nearly depleted and additional funding is necessary to pay recently settled cases and anticipated settlements and judgments; and

Whereas, Budgeted funds were insufficient due to some large settlements and judgments; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the sum of $500,000 be and hereby is appropriated from the Common Council Contingent Fund 0001-9990-0001-C001-006300 to the Damages & Claims Fund 0001-1490-636505-2631-S118 and; be it

Further Resolved, That the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized to make whatever transfers are necessary or appropriate to carry out the provisions of this resolution.
