Title:
Substitute resolution relative to an amendment to Resolution No. 161209 for modifications to the Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program grant budget.
Analysis:
This resolution is to modify the budget for the Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program from the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs in the amount of $740,811. The purpose of this program is to reduce crime and improve community safety through a strategy of advancing neighborhood revitalization. The primary change within the budget is the reallocation of monies from the Milwaukee County District Attorney to the remaining four organizations (Safe and Sound-$34,988, Dominican Center for Women-$44,901, LISC-$40,140, and Dr. Kathleen Pritchard-$20,329). There is also a small increase to MPD Overtime ($888), the addition of $6,043 for travel, and the elimination of indirect costs ($1,502).

Whereas, Resolution No. 161209 was adopted on 1/18/2017; and
Whereas, The budget for this Grant has changed since its acceptance on 1/18/2017; and
Whereas, It is requested that Resolution No. 161209 be amended to incorporate such budget changes to allow for the execution of the agency contracts; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Resolution No. 161209 be amended to incorporate the revised budget for this grant.
