Body

Whereas, The Community and Economic Development Committee Fund supports initiatives that improve city public relations and foster community and economic development; and

Whereas, On September 19^th, 2023, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted a resolution (CCFN-230568) to establish a sister city relationship with Abuja, Nigeria; and

Whereas, The sister city relationship between the City of Milwaukee and Abuja, Nigeria will benefit both cities by fostering cultural and educational exchange, enhancing economic cooperation, and promoting technological skill transfer; and

Whereas, A signing ceremony for the new sister city relationship between the City of Milwaukee and Abuja, Nigeria, has been set for December 13^th, 2023, or thereafter; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that up to $1,000 is appropriated from the 2023 Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account No. 0001-1310-S123-006300 in support of the sister city agreement signing ceremony between Abuja, Nigeria, and the City of Milwaukee.
