Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the transfer of funds for the installation of public improvements in connection with the Milwaukee Public Market in the Historic Third Ward in the 4th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This substitute resolution approves the transfer and expenditure of $285,000 for the installation of public improvements associated with the Milwaukee Public Market in the Historic Third Ward. Adoption of this resolution provides $285,000 from the Development Fund for sidewalk and street improvements in the area bounded by East St. Paul Avenue, North Broadway, East Clybourn and North Water Streets including intersection treatment at Broadway and St. Paul.

Whereas, The 2004 Capital Budget for the City of Milwaukee (“City”) contains $285,000 in the Development Fund; and

Whereas, The City is working closely with the Historic Third Ward Association in the development of the Milwaukee Public Market; and

Whereas, The Common Council desires to make modifications and upgrades to the public improvements serving the Milwaukee Public Market in the area bounded by East St. Paul Avenue, North Broadway, East Clybourn and North Water Streets in the estimated amount of $285,000; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer the sum of $285,000 from the Development Fund to the Milwaukee Public Market Streetscape Account No. UR03396100 for use by the Department of City Development in connection with the modifications and upgrades to the public improvements serving the Milwaukee Public Market in the Historic Third Ward; and, be it
