Whereas, Members of the Judiciary and Legislation Committee have reviewed the records relating to the property items that were removed from the claimant's yard, and have taken testimony from the claimant and City representatives. Based on the evidence presented by the claimant of the cost and replacement value of the items removed from the yard, members of the Committee believe it is most cost-effective to compromise and reduce the amount claimed from $1900.00 to $950.00, despite the recommendation of the City Attorney; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officers be and they hereby are authorized and directed to issue a city check in the total sum of $950.00 payable to Carlos R. Rodriguez, 2065-A South 6th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204, to reimburse him for loss of his property; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the check is to be delivered upon presentation of a proper release, approved by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Account No. 636505, Fund - 0001, Organization - 1490, Program - 2631, Sub Class - S118. This resolution would release the City from any further liability arising from this incident.
