HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
| ADOPTED
Minutes note: Mr. Jakubovich spoke on this item and noted that is a more uncommon wood home, rather than brick or stucco, with many exterior structures. The addition would be on the rear and not visible from the street. The addition would have a shed roof with a bump out with two bay windows under the roof. The windows and door would both be appropriate to the time period of the house. He recommends to remove the intermediate post on the back porch and also either remove a post at the front of the back porch or move it over. The addition would be all wood and painted to match the house. Only part of the addition is covered by a porch and Ald. Bauman was concerned that this portion would decay very quickly, typically in 5-8 years. Mr. Jakubovich recommended using a weather-resistant wood. The second story door will be filled in since it would be directly above the roof of the addition.
The owner and architect both present if needed.
Approval, with the conditions requested by staff.
Mr. Hoeschen replaced by Ms. Keating Kahn, who voted in favor of this item. | Pass | 6:0 |
