Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of a vacant, tax-deed strip of land.
Body
Whereas, Gloria Dei Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church (the "Church"), with its property located at 9420 West Capitol Drive, has offered $500 to purchase the vacant, tax-deed strip of land adjoining its property; and
 
Whereas, The Church is the only property adjoining said 17.09 foot strip of land and while the Church is in the process of survey work, it would like to include the tax-deed property in that survey; and
 
Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") recommends acceptance of the Offer from the Church which will remove said land from the City's inventory thereby reducing maintenance costs; and
 
Whereas, Said land is being sold in an "as is" condition and the City makes no representations as to soil or subsoil condition; and
 
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that said land is surplus to municipal needs; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said land is declared surplus, that the Offer from Gloria Dei Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church is accepted, that the Commissioner of DCD, or assigns, is authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution and that the proceeds from the sale, less a 20 percent disposition cost reimbursement to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, be credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund, Account No. 0001-334106.
