Analysis
This resolution approves a First Amendment to the lease agreement between the City and Ameritech (now Cingular Wireless) which was approved by Common Council File Number 000716 on September 22, 2000, for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the fire station at 5600 West Oklahoma Avenue, and authorizes the proper City officials to enter into said lease agreement with Cingular Wireless on behalf of the City.

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 960170 on June 25, 1996, establishing a policy for the leasing of City facilities for the provision of wireless telecommunications services; and

Whereas, The Common Council further adopted Resolution File Number 991575 on February 18, 2000, amending said policy; and

Whereas, These resolutions designated the Department of Administration as the City's sole negotiating agent for marketing City-owned sites to communication vendors; and

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 000716 on September 22, 2000, approving a lease agreement with Ameritech (now Cingular Wireless) for placement of personal communications services antennas on City-owned property at 5600 West Oklahoma Avenue; and

Whereas, The Department of Administration has been working with the Milwaukee Fire Department and the City Attorney's Office to negotiate an amendment to the lease agreement with Cingular Wireless for placement of personal communications services (PCS) antennas on City-owned property at 5600 West Oklahoma Avenue; and

Whereas, The lease agreement offers a fair market value to the City, protects other City interests and is acceptable to all City participants; now, therefore, be it
