This resolution authorizes the settlement of the lawsuit of John E. Gierum v. City of Milwaukee, in the amount of $20,000.00. _________________________________________________________________
BODY:
Whereas, The plaintiff, John E. Gierum, not individually but solely as trustee for the Estate of Stripe-N-Seal Corp., has filed a lawsuit in federal court against the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The parties believe it desirable to settle the lawsuit on the merits, with no admission of liability, in the amount of $20,000; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $20,000, payable to the order of John E. Gierum, trustee, and DeWitt Ross & Stevens, S.C., in full and final settlement of this lawsuit, upon receipt of a stipulation and order of dismissal, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 01-149-0-6382--013-8001.
