Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works, Infrastructure Services Division, to accept a Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Green Infrastructure grant funding for the construction of permeable pavers and a bioswale with a maximum reimbursement amount of $234,000. Whereas, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is responsible for collecting and treating wastewater from local sewerage systems; and

Whereas, Green infrastructure reduces the volume of stormwater in the sewer system and the amount of pollutants discharged to surface waters; and

Whereas, The City proposes permeable pavers and a bioswale in a parking lot owned by the City of Milwaukee located at 1223 South 15th Place; and

Whereas, The permeable pavers and bioswale project provides water quality benefit in compliance with the City’s stormwater discharge permit with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR);

Whereas, MMSD desires to promote the installation of green infrastructure practices such as permeable pavers and bioswales and is willing to provide the City funding as part of its Green Infrastructure Program; and

Whereas, A template Maintenance Covenant to be used post-installation is submitted to this file; now, therefore, be it
