This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to enter into an agreement with Milwaukee Board of School Directors on behalf of the Milwaukee Public Schools for continued operations of the Survive Alive House. The Survive Alive House has operated since 1992 and promotes the health, safety and welfare of Milwaukee citizens by providing fire prevention education and related activities.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) and Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) have partnered to operate the Survive Alive House structure located at 2059 South 20th St since 1992; and
Whereas, The Survive Alive House promotes the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Milwaukee through fire prevention and related activities; and
Whereas, Both parties wish to continue the partnership for operations of the Survive Alive House; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the attached agreement between the Milwaukee Fire Department and Milwaukee Board of School Directors on behalf of the Milwaukee Public Schools to continue operation of the Survive Alive House, and subject to such changes as the City Attorney may approve in negotiation, is approved; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are authorized to enter into this Agreement on behalf of the City of Milwaukee.
