This resolution authorizes and directs the Forestry Division-Department of Public Works to apply weed- control herbicide to all boulevard medians under its control within 30 days of adoption of the resolution.
BODY:
Whereas, Boulevard medians in the city of Milwaukee are presently covered with dandelions and other unsightly weeds; and
Whereas, Weed-infested boulevard medians have become eyesores throughout the city of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, If left untreated, weeds on boulevard medians can spread to nearby residential properties; and
Whereas, Milwaukee's tradition of attractive, well- maintained boulevards has contributed to quality-of- life for city residents, left positive impressions of the city on out-of-town visitors and earned the city national recognition for its urban forestry efforts; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Forestry Division-Department of Public Works is authorized and directed to apply a weed-control herbicide to all boulevard medians in the city of Milwaukee maintained by the Forestry Division; and, be it
Further Resolved, That said herbicide application shall be completed within 30 days of adoption of this resolution by the Council.
