Analysis
This ordinance establishes the following limited-use standards for an indoor storage facility located in the industrial-commercial (IC) zoning district:
1. Either of the following is true:
a. The use is accessory to a permitted principal use or a use otherwise approved by the board, and located on the same premises as that use.
b. The use is located off-premises but is used in an accessory manner to a principal use located within 150 feet of the indoor storage facility and both premises are under the same ownership.
2. If located on the first floor, the use is not located within 25 feet of the primary street façade of the building, regardless of whether the use is located on the same premises or a different premises as the principal use.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 295-803-2-hh of the code is repealed and recreated to read:
295-803. Uses.
2. LIMITED USE STANDARDS.
hh. Storage Facility, Indoor. hh-1. Either of the following is true: hh-1-a. The use is accessory to a permitted principal use or a use otherwise approved by the board, and located on the same premises as that use.
hh-1-b. The use is located off-premises but is used in an accessory manner to a principal use located within 150 feet of the indoor storage facility and both premises are under the same ownership.
hh-2. If located on the first floor, the use is not located within 25 feet of the primary street façade of the building, regardless of whether the use is located on the same premises or a different premises than the principal use.
