This resolution authorizes the Fire Department to accept a donation of six Trek bicycles to assist in the development of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Bicycle Response.

BODY:

Whereas, The Fire Department intends to accept six Trek bicycles, valued at $700 each, ($4,200 total value) from Wheel & Sprocket; and

Whereas, The bicycles will be used by the Fire Department to initiate a increased level of basic and advanced life support service to the citizens and visitors of the City of Milwaukee. These bicycles will allow paramedics access to patients in highly congested areas (festivals, parades, special events, etc.) and will be staffed with on duty personnel so as to not incur additional personnel costs; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Fire Department is authorized to accept six Trek bicycles from Wheel and Sprocket.
