Title
Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to issue a permit allowing excavation in the intersection of North 60th and West Center Streets where the pavement is less than three years old.
Analysis
This resolution allows a cut in street pavement (intersection of North 60th and West Center Street)currently under three year warranty.
Body
Whereas, Ameritech of Wisconsin is undertaking a large cable relief project in West Center Street to provide telephone lines to customers who have already waited several months for service; and
Whereas, Ameritech needs to make cable connections in the West Center and North 60th Streets intersection; and
Whereas, The existing manhole in that intersection is not large enough to accommodate the required connections and a new, larger manhole is needed; and
Whereas, Construction of a new manhole is expected to take approximately three weeks; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to issue an excavation permit allowing installation of a new manhole to accommodate connection of Ameritech of Wisconsin cable in the intersection of North 60th and West Center Streets; and be it
Further Resolved, That the pavement restoration of the affected street shall be accomplished in accord with the specifications and restrictions established by the Department of Public Works including that the section of concrete pavement affected by Ameritech's work be completely replaced.
