Substitute resolution authorizing the appropriation of $500,000 from the 1997 Common Council Contingent Fund (Acct. No. 09-910-8000) to the Wages Supplement Fund (Acct. No. 01-060-8001) to provide funding for greater than anticipated salary increases and facilitate year end closing of 1997 accounts.

This resolution authorizes an appropriation of $500,000 to fund anticipated salary increases that were greater than budgeted.

Whereas, several bargaining units have negotiated salary increases that were greater than anticipated, and

Whereas,; the settlement of these contracts included the payment of a $100 signing bonus; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is authorized and hereby directed to appropriate $500,000 from the 1997 Contingent Fund (09-910-8000), to the Wages Supplement Fund (01-060-8001) to fund greater than anticipated wage rate increases.
