Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to execute two Local Force Account agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the installation of traffic signal improvements using City forces at various intersections citywide under two Highway Safety Improvement Program projects in various Aldermanic Districts at a total estimated cost of $265,058.17, with an estimated grantor share of $238,109.25, and an estimated City share of $26,948.92. This resolution also authorizes the Comptroller to establish and transfer funds to the appropriate accounts for the project. The total cost of both projects is $1,011,227.89, with a grantor share of $887,882, and a City share of $123,345.89.

Whereas, Two Project Agreements for the installation of traffic signal improvements under the 2015 Highway Safety Improvement Program were approved by the Common Council under File Numbers 120993; and
Whereas, The two proposed projects include the installation of overhead mast arm signals at nine intersections; and
Whereas, The Highway Safety Improvement Program provides cost participation for traffic signal and other improvements to reduce the frequency and severity of vehicle and pedestrian crashes; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost of the two projects is $230,485.37 for the installation of traffic signal improvements; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost for state review for the two projects is $34,572.80; and
