Analysis

This ordinance prohibits the operation of dockless mobility systems within the City’s Downtown time-limited food peddler vehicle zone between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

 

Body

 

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 101-53-2 of the code is repealed and recreated to read:

 

101-53. Dockless Mobility Systems.

 

2. PROHIBITED.

a. No person may operate a dockless mobility system in the city upon the highway including public streets and sidewalks.

 

b. No person may operate a dockless mobility system within the Downtown time-limited food peddler vehicle zone, as designated under s. 68-37-1-e of the code, between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

 

Part 2. Section 101-53-3 of the code is amended to read:

 

3. EXCEPTION. Notwithstanding the [[foregoing]] >>prohibition of par. 2-a<<, the operation of a dockless mobility system shall be permitted >>, subject to the prohibition of par. 2-b,<< if the operator participates in the dockless mobility system program administered by the department of public works pursuant to common council file number 231648. Participation in the dockless mobility system program may only occur upon application and approval of the department of public works.
