Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Emergency Department Asthma Project. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Emergency Department Asthma Project from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in the amount of $10,000. The purpose of the project is to improve asthma care for children who present in City-wide emergency departments.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to improve asthma care for children who present in City-wide emergency departments; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 10/01/01 to 09/30/02 would cost $10,000 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2001 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Emergency Department Asthma Project:
