This resolution approves a Contribution Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Board of Business Improvement District No. 21. The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee has already approved the 1999 Operating Plan for the Board and the 1999 City budget, which authorizes a contribution of $35,000 from the City to the Board. This Contribution Agreement enables the City to make that contribution and commits the Board to expending the funds solely for purposes authorized under the 1999 Operating Plan.
BODY:
Whereas, Pursuant to Section 66.608, Wisconsin Statutes, the City of Milwaukee ("City"), via Common Council File No. 970900, adopted October 14, 1997, created Business Improvement District No. 21 ("BID No. 21") and adopted the initial Operating Plan; and

Whereas, Acting pursuant to Section 66.608(3)(b), Wisconsin Statutes, the Business Improvement District Board ("Board") and the City have thereafter considered and approved annual changes to the Operating Plan; and

Whereas, The Operating Plan as changed for 1999 ("1999 Operating Plan") provides for a $35,000 contribution from the City to the Board to fund, in part, the activities authorized under the 1999 Operating Plan; and

Whereas, The City, by the adoption of its 1999 budget, has authorized the expenditure of $35,000 to fund, in part, the activities authorized under the 1999 Operating Plan; and

Whereas, The City's contribution is made pursuant to Section 66.608(4), Wisconsin Statutes, which authorizes the City to make "appropriations...for the benefit of the business improvement district"; now, therefore, be it
