Analysis
Currently, all doors used for the admission of patrons to any Class “B” tavern premises, except when used for ingress and egress, are required to be kept closed after 10 p.m. This ordinance amends the code by providing exceptions for Class “B” tavern premises with approved extensions for outdoor areas such as beer gardens and sidewalk cafes, providing that doors and other openings for movement between such licensed extended outdoor areas and adjacent tavern rooms may be left open after 10:00 p.m.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 90-27-2 of the code is amended to read:
90-27. Licensed Premises Accessible and Lighted.
2. DOORS KEPT CLOSED. All doors used for the admission of patrons to any Class “B” tavern premises shall, except when used for ingress and egress, be kept closed after 10 p.m. during the conduct of business on the premises>>, except doors and other openings allowing passage from room to room or between tavern rooms and approved extensions for beer gardens permitted under s. 261-98 and sidewalk area dining facilities permitted under s. 115-32.6 shall be exempt from this provision<<.
