Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Buildings and Fleet Services to accept up to $50,000 in private contributions of material and artwork for the proposed redevelopment work at the City of Milwaukee's Enderis Playfield.

Body
Whereas, Enderis Playfield has a large unused asphalt playground dating from the late 1930's; and

Whereas, The Enderis Park Neighborhood Association is interested in coordinating an effort to revitalize this area and is currently working with the City on a proposed redevelopment at Enderis Playfield; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works - Buildings and Fleet Services estimates the total cost of upgrading Enderis Playfield, including removal of the existing asphalt playground, installation of a jogging track, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, parking lot, walks, benches, and landscaping to be $231,000; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works - Buildings and Fleet Services in it's 2004 Recreational Facilities Capital Improvement Program has budgeted $181,000 for this project; and

Whereas, The Enderis Park Neighborhood Association has committed to raising up to $50,000 towards the playfield improvements and is aware of individuals and organizations who are interested in donating funds for the upgrading of the Enderis Playfield; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works - Buildings and Fleet Services is not authorized to accept private contributions for improvements to the Enderis Playfield; now, therefore, be it
