Title
Resolution transferring departmental budget authority for the previously awarded 2021 - 2026 ARPA COVID Recovery Fund Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA).
Analysis
The City previously accepted a 2021 - 2026 ARPA COVID Recovery Fund grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration(DOA) to implement the Violence Prevention Response to COVID-Related Challenges project to increase Milwaukee’s violence prevention response. This resolution authorizes the City Comptroller to transfer the remaining balance as of December 31, 2023 in expenditure authority from that grant from the Health Department to the Department of Administration, which will carry out the purpose of the grant.

Whereas, On March 8, 2022, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 211618, accepting and funding the 2021 - 2026 ARPA COVID Recovery Fund grant in the amount of $8,400,000 from the from the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration(DOA) to implement the Violence Prevention Response to COVID-Related Challenges project to increase Milwaukee’s violence prevention response; and
Whereas, the Office of Violence Prevention, which manages this grant-funded program will be organizationally transferred from the Health Department to the Department of Administration in January of 2024; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer budget authority equal to the remaining balance as of December 31, 2023 for the 2021 - 2026 ARPA COVID Recovery Fund grant to the Department of Administration to implement the Violence Prevention Response to COVID-Related Challenges project to increase Milwaukee’s violence prevention response; and, be it
