Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a Community Tree Planting Demonstration Grant.
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works Forestry Division to apply for, accept and fund a Community Tree Planting Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in the total amount of $100,000 with a $100,000 grantor share and no city share. The purpose is to improve Milwaukee's urban forest canopy cover through a partnership with Greening Milwaukee.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for a community tree planting demonstration project to improve Milwaukee's urban forestry canopy cover through a partnership with Greening Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The operation of the grant program is from 2000 to 2001 and would cost $100,000 of which none is provided by the city and the grantor provides $100,000 (100%), now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works Forestry Division is authorized to apply for, accept and expend this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council file 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2000 Special Revenue Grants and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project/program titled, "Community Tree Planting Demonstration Project":
