Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to apply for, accept and fund a fiscal year 2002 State Domestic Preparedness Program Grant (Equipment) from the Division of Wisconsin Emergency Management in the amount of $23,965.00 with a city share of $0.00, and a grantor share of $23,965.00. The purpose of the project is to enhance the capabilities of state and local first responders by allowing grant funds to be used for the purpose of advanced levels of equipment for responders and for the protection of critical infrastructure.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Division of Wisconsin Emergency Management to enhance the capabilities of state and local first responders by allowing grant funds to be used for the purpose of advanced levels of equipment for responders and for the protection of critical infrastructure; and

Whereas, The operation of this fiscal year 2002 State Domestic Preparedness Program Grant (Equipment) from date of the state award until December 31, 2003 would cost $23,965.00, of which $0.00 (0%) would be provided by the city, and $23,965.00 (100%) by the grantor; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Division of Wisconsin Emergency Management is authorized and the Milwaukee Fire Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
