Substitute resolution relative to approving a lease agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Anthony A. Palermo for additional office space for the City Comptroller's Office (FMIS Replacement Project at 1000 North Water Street).
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee's Financial Management Information System (FMIS) Replacement Project is a multi-year undertaking that will result in new accounting, payroll, and human resources automated systems; and
Whereas, With the approval of File 961781, office space has been leased on the 9th and 10th floors at 1000 N. Water St. in 1997 for City staff and outside consultants to work on installation and implementation of these systems, and to train several hundred City employees who will use the new systems; and
Whereas, The entire 9th and 10th floor leased space is full, and there is a pressing need for more room to begin and complete the next phases of the project; and
Whereas, Additional space on the 9th floor of the 1000 N. Water St. adjacent to current leased space is available to the City for the same terms agreed to in 1997; and
Whereas, Management of 1000 N. Water Street will provide 1,541 square feet of space with an annual rent of $26,197 for a period of approximately 16-1/2 months with an option to renew under the same terms; and
Whereas, The City Attorney's Office has reviewed the proposed lease for form and content and finds it approvable as revised; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers are authorized and directed to execute the lease with Anthony A. Palermo for additional office space at 1000 N. Water Street upon the terms and conditions as found in Exhibit 1 to this file; providing that any non-substantive changes necessary can be made upon review by the City Attorney.
