- Analysis - This substitute resolution will authorize and direct City participation in a grade separation study to be undertaken by Milwaukee County in conjunction with the future planned improvement of East College Avenue (CTH "ZZ") from South Howell Avenue to South Pennsylvania Avenue. This project lies within the City of Milwaukee, Oak Creek and Cudahy and all are expectedto participate in the project. The grade separation study is estimated to cost $100,000, of which the City share is estimated at $3,800. This substitute resolution also directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds to the proper account to fund the City share of the project along with the City estimated nonparticipating costs of $3,200. Further action on preliminary engineering and construction on the project will be subject to further Common Council action. ___________________________________________________________

Whereas, Milwaukee County is proposing to improve East College Avenue (CTH "ZZ") from South Howell Avenue to South Pennsylvania Avenue in the near future; and

Whereas, The proposed project lies within Milwaukee, Oak Creek and Cudahy; and

Whereas, The County has requested and received National Highway System (NHS) funding to fund 80% of the preliminary engineering for this project; and

Whereas, The County's policy on roadway expansion projects is that the local municipalities share in the 20% local grant match; and
