Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute the Amendment #1 to the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Forest County Potawatomi Community and the City of Milwaukee that acknowledges terms and conditions for funding reimbursement as part of the Tribal Transportation Program for the City of Milwaukee share of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation sponsored Local Bridge Improvement Program Project at the 16th Street Viaduct over the Menomonee River (WisDOT Project ID 2615-15-73).
Body
Whereas, The original Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was approved in Resolution File 250248; and

Whereas, The construction cost was approved in Resolution File 241883; and

Whereas, The project is programmed for construction in 2025; and

Whereas, The Tribal Transportation Program (“TTP”) is an authorized federal program jointly administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Federal Highway Administration to address the surface transportation needs of Tribes; and

Whereas, Under the TTP, Tribes may request federal funds to pay for or assist in the municipal costs for certain public roads listed with the National Tribal Transportation Facility Inventory (“NTTFI”); and

Whereas, The Forest County Potawatomi Community wishes to execute an Amendment to the existing MOU with the City of Milwaukee to provide reimbursement for the City of Milwaukee municipal/local share of eligible project costs; and
