Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of City Development to prepare a resolution to vacate said alley in accordance with vacation proceedings under power granted to the City of Milwaukee by Section 62.73, Wisconsin Statutes, and Section 308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances. This vacation was requested by the Milwaukee Department of Public Works, since a Milwaukee Public School was constructed on said right-of-way.

Whereas, It has been proposed by the Department of City Development that the unimproved north-south alley in the block bounded by South 17th Street, South 18th Street, West Morgan Avenue and West Wilbur Avenue be vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 62.73, Wisconsin Statutes; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of City Development is directed to prepare a resolution to vacate said alley in accordance with Section 308-28 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
