Title
Substitute resolution relative to allocation of community development block grant funds for certain activities for 2002 and review of the neighborhood strategic planning process.
Analysis
This resolution establishes the intent of the Common Council in 2002 to commit community development block grant funds in the amount of $2.5 million for 7 activities-lead abatement; street resurfacing/reconstruction; targeted enforcement (code enforcement inspectors); targeted weekend neighborhood box program (dumpsters); super target investment neighborhood (TIN); community prosecution unit; and targeted prenatal services.
Body
Whereas, Federal Community Development Block Grant regulations permit a broad spectrum of activities in terms of eligible funding; and
Whereas, It is the intent of the Common Council to designate a number of activities with respect to inclusion in the City of Milwaukee's plan for community development entitlement funding for 2002 and the city's consolidated community development entitlement funding for city strategic objectives from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following activities for the following amounts shall be included in the City's plan for community development entitlement funding for 2002 and the City's consolidated community development entitlement funding for city strategic objectives from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development:
1. Lead Abatement - $800,000.
2. Street Resurfacing/Reconstruction Program - $500,000.
3. Targeted Enforcement (code enforcement inspectors) - $300,000.
4. Targeted Weekend Neighborhood Box Program (Dumpsters) - $300,000.
5. Super Target Investment Neighborhood (TIN) - $200,000.
6. Community Prosecution Unit - $200,000....
