Resolution relative to application, acceptance, and funding for a Lifenet Grant. (Library)
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for, accept, and fund a Lifenet Grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Instruction, in the amount of $92,469 with a city share of $23,969 and a grantor share of $68,500. The purpose of the project is to enhance and strengthen collections for adult learning and job information and provide increased access to computers for Milwaukee residents.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Instruction, for the purchase of computers and library materials; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 07/01/97 to 06/30/98 would cost $92,469 of which $23,969 (26%) would be provided by the city and $68,500 (74%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Instruction is authorized and the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled "Lifenet Grant": .nf
