Resolution amending Common Council File 970118 relative to application, acceptance and funding of a Major Urban Resource (MURLS) Project Grant. (Library)
ANLS:
This resolution amends Common Council File 970118 relative to MURLS Grant. The purpose of the grant is to purchase materials that will target a number of needs and interests within the local community.
BODY:
Whereas, Common Council File 970118 authorized the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for, accept and fund a MURLS Grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Instruction for the purchase of various library materials. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $89,310 and a City share total of $12,000; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is increased by $73,210; the in-kind City share is increased by $11,660; and the total cost is increased by $84,870; and
Whereas, The project has been extended through June 30, 1998; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin, Department of Public Instruction, is authorized and the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled "Major Urban Resource Library Grant": .nf
