Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to enter into a Local Force Account agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the installation of traffic signal improvements using City forces at various intersections citywide under in various Aldermanic Districts at a total estimated cost of $738,626.83, with an estimated grantor share of $590,901.46, and an estimated City share of $147,725.37 and to install these improvements upon execution of the agreement. This resolution also authorizes the Comptroller to establish and transfer funds to the appropriate accounts for the project.

Whereas, A Project Agreement for the installation of traffic signal improvements under the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality program were approved by the Common Council under File Number 220290; and

Whereas, The Congestion Mitigation Air Quality program is intended to reduce delay and vehicle emissions; and

Whereas, Forty two intersections have been identified for replacement of traffic signal controllers and installation of improved communications; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of the project is $683,913.73 for the upgrade of traffic control signals; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost for state review for the projects is $54,713.10; and

Whereas, $147,725.37 is not reimbursable and is included in the Division’s 2024 Capital Purpose Project Grant Number ST320240000; and

Whereas, $547,130.98 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2024 Capital Grant and Aid...
