Substitute resolution relative to application for a Book of the Month Club Community Library Fund Grant.
ANLS:
This substitute resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for a Book of the Month Club Community Library Fund Grant from the Urban Libraries Council in the amount of $29,458 with a city share of $4,458 and a grantor share of $25,000. The purpose of the project is to provide information resources for welfare reform clients in Milwaukee County who are no longer eligible to receive AFDC payments to support their families.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Urban Libraries Council to provide information resources for welfare reform clients in Milwaukee County who are no longer eligible to receive AFDC payments to support their families; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 04/01/98 to 03/31/99 would cost $29,458 of which $4,458(15%) would be provided by the city and $25,000 (85%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Urban Libraries Council is authorized.
