This resolution authorizes the placement of special charges on the property tax bill for one property in the City of Milwaukee. This property, which is located at 3029 West Juneau Avenue, was the subject of a receivership action for which the receiver was not compensated by the property owner. _____________________________________________
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has made it a priority to collect expenditures made through the receivership program in cases where the owner neglected their property and did not repair building code violations or eliminate nuisance behavior; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee brought a receivership action against the owner of the property at 3029 West Juneau Avenue, and the costs of nuisance abatement was $12,872.27, and the City has not been compensated by the owner of the property; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has obtained a court order in the nuisance action for the property at 3029 West Juneau Avenue approving the costs of the receiver in the action (Exhibit 1, which is attached to File No. 970950); and to date, the City of Milwaukee has not been compensated, now, therefore, be it



Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the City of Milwaukee place on the property tax roll as a current municipal service a special charge for the following property:

1. 3029 West Juneau Avenue, Tax Key No. 388-1612-000-1, in the amount of $12,872.27,

and, be it further resolved that the proper City officials be directed to take the actions necessary for placement of the above charge on the City of Milwaukee tax roll as is necessary.
