Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Facilities Development and Management Section to continue our existing five year contract to supply these services.

Body

Whereas, The Facilities Development and Management Section has a computerized fire/life safety system and various digital field control units which operate that system for the City Hall Complex and numerous outlying buildings; and

Whereas, Building modifications require changes to be made to the Networked Fire/Life Safety System to control new and modified equipment; and

Whereas, The Networked Computerized Fire/Life Safety System was installed and serviced by the Siemans Corporation; and

Whereas, It would be in the best interests of the City of Milwaukee to procure the equipment, materials, and services necessary to make changes in the operation and maintenance of the Networked Computerized Life/Safety System from the Siemans Corporation to ensure compatibility of equipment and undivided responsibility for operation of the systems; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be authorized and directed as being in the best interests of the City of Milwaukee to procure the equipment, materials, and services necessary to make required changes to the Networked Computerized Life/Safety System from the Siemans Corporation during 2005; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the cost to procure the equipment, materials, and services shall be charged against funds already budgeted for maintenance, repair, and alteration of the Networked Computerized Life/Safety System.
