Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the 2005 Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Funding Assistance Program grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to apply for, accept and fund a Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Funding Assistance Program grant (formerly known as Act 102) from Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services in the amount of $30,000 with a grantor share of $30,000. The purpose of the project is to enhance provision of emergency medical services through purchase of supplies and equipment, training and public education materials.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for additional equipment, supplies, and training to enhance city provision of emergency medical services; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005 would cost approximately $30,000, of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Milwaukee Fire Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2004 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects, fund the following amounts for the program/project titled Wisconsin EMS Funding Assistance Program:
