This resolution amends Common Council File 020931 relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Wisconsin Wins Grant. The purpose of the grant is to reduce the rate at which tobacco retailers sell tobacco products to underage youth.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File 020931 authorized the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Wisconsin Wins Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for the purpose of reducing the rate at which tobacco retailers sell tobacco products to underage youth. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $67,500; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is increased by $18,000; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that, application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within Project/Grant parent of the 2003 Special Revenue Grant and Aid projects fund, the following amount for the project titled Wisconsin Wins Grant:
