-Analysis- This resolution would approve "swap" of property with North American Salt Company to allow a new truck scale to move forward. The swap would include in the existing North American Salt Co. leasehold, the building at 2001 S. Lincoln Memorial Drive, together with .71 acre of property. The former North American Salt Company office at 2061 S. Harbor Drive, together with approximately .77 acres, would revert to the Port.
BODY:
Whereas, The Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved "swap" of property with North American Salt Company to allow a new truck scale to move forward; and
 
Whereas, The Port would include in the existing North American Salt Company leasehold, the building at 2001 S. Lincoln Memorial Drive, together with .71 acres of property; and
 
Whereas, The former North American Salt Company office at 2061 S. Harbor Drive, together with approximately .77 acres, would revert to the Port; and,
 
Whereas, The swap would be "even up" with all other terms and conditions remaining the same under the relevant Lease document dated 4 March 1985, which term is twenty (20) years from 1 April 1985 through 31 March 2005; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said Common Council hereby ratifies and approves the swap of parcels of property between the City of Milwaukee, by and through its Board of Harbor Commissioners and North American Salt Company; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the designated officers of City Government and of said Board are hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement to carry out this purpose as prepared by the City Attorney's office.
