This resolution authorizes City officials to negotiate a water service agreement with Wisconsin Gas Co. for water service to a portion of Mequon.
BODY:
Whereas, The Wisconsin Gas Co. has been granted an exclusive right to submit a proposal to supply Lake Michigan water to a portion of Mequon; and
Whereas, The Wisconsin Gas Co. has inquired of the Milwaukee Water Works regarding the availability of treated Lake Michigan water at a proposed connection point at West County Line Road and North 76th Street; and
Whereas, Milwaukee has facilities in place and ample capacity to deliver treated water at the proposed connection point; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Water Works is hereby authorized to negotiate a water service agreement with the Wisconsin Gas Co. for wholesale water service to a portion of Mequon, patterned after the standard wholesale water service agreements currently in effect with other communities; and be it
Further Resolved, That the agreement resulting from the negotiations be submitted to the Common Council for approval and filed with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
