Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Childhood Lead Detection Grant. (Health Department)
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund a Childhood Lead Detection Grant project from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $509,277 with a city share of $120,691 and a grantor share of $388,586. The purpose of the project is to support comprehensive and coordinated service delivery to lead-poisoned children through data management, community outreach, nursing care management and technical services.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services for data management, community outreach, nursing care management and technical services; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 07/01/97 to 06/30/98 would cost $509,277 of which $120,691 (24%) would be provided by the city and $388,586 (76%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled Childhood Lead Detection Grant: .nf
