Resolution implementing 2008 City Budget provisions relating to the Milwaukee Public Library’s library materials budget.
Analysis
This resolution implements a footnote to the Milwaukee Public Library’s library materials budget in the amount of $100,000 established in the 2008 City Budget. This footnote states $100,000 in funding is allocated to fund the purchase of books in the library materials budget.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Public Library purchases library materials in all subject areas and formats to meet the needs of Milwaukee residents; and
Whereas, Collection purchases support the Library’s mission to provide programs and activities in literacy, education, jobs, business development, and health; and
Whereas, The 2008 City Budget increased funding of the Library materials budget in the amount of $100,000, with respect to the amount in the 2008 Proposed Budget, and included a footnote stating these funds shall be allocated to fund the purchase of books; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that increased funding of the Library materials budget in the amount of $100,000 in the 2008 Budget shall be allocated to fund the purchase of books.
