Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and the Comptroller to execute the State Municipal Agreements for construction alterations on Milwaukee Water Works facilities in conjunction with the I-94 East West, Early Grading contract. Total estimated cost of $45,065,200, with an estimated grantor share of $45,047,600 and an estimated City share of $17,600.

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has scheduled the reconstruction of the I-94 East West, Early Grading (Menomonee River - 32nd Street) in the City of Milwaukee; and

Whereas, The I-94 East West, Early Grading (Menomonee River - 32nd Street) contract includes grading to construct a 2,000-foot segment of fill slope south of I-94 in the City of Milwaukee; and

Whereas, Alterations to Milwaukee Water Works facilities are necessitated by the I-94 East West, Early Grading; and

Whereas, Wisconsin Statue 84.295(4m) indicates that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will pay 90% of the cost of alteration, rehabilitation, and relocation of Municipal utilities with the responsible jurisdiction liable for the remaining 10% of the cost; and
Whereas, In order for the City to be reimbursed for the 90% share of the utility alteration construction cost on this contract, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation requires a State Municipal Agreement, in accord with WISDOT relocation assistance policy; and
