Title
Substitute resolution relating to amending the Intergovernmental Agreement between Milwaukee County and the City of Milwaukee to include opportunities for Opioid Settlement funding.
Analysis
This resolution amends the 2021-2025 Emergency Medical Services agreement between the City of Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) and Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to include programmatic opportunities supported with Opioid Settlement funds.
Body
Whereas, The MFD and OEM entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement for a coordinated delivery system of Emergency Medical Services for 2021-2025; and
Whereas, THE MFD and OEM wish to amend the agreement to include new programmatic opportunities supported with Milwaukee County Opioid Settlement funds; and
Whereas, MFD has identified a plan to grow the Milwaukee Overdose Response Initiative (MORI) program with funding of $400,000 including staffing, equipment & supplies; and
Whereas, MFD will participate in the Pre/Post Incarceration Access to Treatment and Healing (PATH) program, following procedures, policies and patient care directives from OEM; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Fire Department shall amend the 2021-2025 Emergency Medical Services Agreement and accept this funding without further approval; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2025 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled Emergency Medical Services (EMS) OEM Opioid Support :
