This resolution authorizes the sale of a vacant, tax deed lot owned by the City of Milwaukee.
BODY:
Whereas, The adjoining owner, Greater New Birth Baptist Missionary Church, has offered to purchase the vacant, tax deed lot located at 2201 West Center Street, Tax Roll Key No. 325-0679-110-2, from the City of Milwaukee containing 3,600 square feet for new church construction for $1,800; and

Whereas, The subject vacant lot will be combined with Greater New Birth Baptist Missionary Church's adjoining vacant lots to create a development site for their church and associated parking; and

Whereas, This vacant, tax deed lot is being sold in an "as is" condition; and

Whereas, Closing is contingent upon:

1. Submittal and approval of site and building plans to the Department of City Development, Planning Division.

2. Proof of financial capability to complete the project as proposed.

3. Closing must occur within 120 days from the date of adoption of this resolution.

4. Construction must be completed within 18 months from the date of closing, as evidenced by a Certificate of Occupancy; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has approved the acceptance of said Offer, the sale of said lot to be consummated in the manner provided for in the sale of other City-owned tax deed lots pursuant to Section 304-49 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said lot is declared surplus, said Offer is accepted, and the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as may be required to consummate the sale of said lot a...
