Whereas, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is responsible for collecting and treating wastewater from local sewerage systems; and

Whereas, Green infrastructure, reduces the volume of stormwater in the sewer system and the amount of pollutants discharged to surface waters; and

Whereas, MMSD desires to promote the installation of Best Management Practices such as bioswales and porous pavers and is willing to provide funding for such projects; and

Whereas, the City supports reducing the risk of combined sewer overflows by reducing the quantity of stormwater runoff entering the combined sewer system from the area around the Mineral Street overpass; and

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the project; and

Whereas, the design and construction of the project shall be funded by MMSD; and

Whereas, the City is obligated to maintain the project after completion for a period of 10 years; and

Whereas, maintenance of the project is further discussed in the companion file 231553; now, therefore, be it
