Analysis
This resolution appropriates $400,000 from the 2003 Common Council Contingent Fund to the Department of Employee Relations' Unemployment Compensation Special Purpose Account for payment of unemployment compensation claims for the remainder of 2003.
Body
Whereas, The Department of Employee Relations' Unemployment Compensation Special Purpose Account is budgeted at $800,000 for 2003; and
 
Whereas, Through April 2003, $745,435 has been paid in unemployment compensation claims, leaving only $54,565 to fund the final 8 months of 2003; and
 
Whereas, Additional funds are needed to pay unemployment compensation claims during the remaining 8 months of 2003; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that an amount not to exceed $400,000 shall be transferred from the 2003 Common Council Contingent Fund (0001-9990-0001-C001-006300-2003) to the Department of Employee Relations' Unemployment Compensation Special Purpose Account (612501-0001-1652-165S172-2003); and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish all funds and necessary accounting procedures to fulfill the intent of this resolution.
